Raya holiday post. FINALLY

Well, its been a while since I’ve posted. Was supposed to post up about Raya last week, but decided to….um….yea. Anyway, here’s pretty much happened during the remainder of the Raya holidays.

After church, went out with Eric on Sunday, to teach me how to use the 350D. At the same time I had some much-needed hang out time with him. Its been quite a while since we hung out.

We went to waffle world. IT IS MY FIRST TIME GOING THERE!!!!! It was almost like going to Disneyland. Crap the waffles are the shiznit man.

DPP_0069

Had their classic, waffles and maple syrup. Awesome.

DPP_0066

Eric had a coke =.=Copy

DPP_0067

Me playing with Eric’s and vice versa. Oh yea, it had been quite some time since his birthday had passed, but in the end, me and Cher Haow made good on our promise.

DPP_0002

Gave him a 2GB cruzer thumbdrive with a little extra something. ;D Are you ENJOICE???? You’ll have to refer to Eric’s blog to see it lol Went to the arcade to revisit an old friend

DPP_0004

Played about 3 rounds till we started looking like assholes and decided to leave.

DPP_0006

There was mooncake festival exhibition going on, so decided to take a few photos there.

They had some pretty nice things there but the photos of them were a little blurred and or noisy. Had to go at about 4.30 cos Eric had to go help his sister. Had to limp back from the bus station because of the fresh wound on the bottom of my foot. Was so tired that I feel asleep on my parents’ bed, only to be rudely awoken by my mom some 3 hours later and I had to go for the opening of some new restaurant.

DPP_0016

The place was at Plaza Hartamas. Had to pick up Julianna’s dad, Uncle Daniel before heading to the restaurant. Being the youngest in the car, I was cramped at the back of Dad’s Rexton.

From left, Mom, Aunty Choi Lee, Miss Goh, Uncle Pang, Dad. The place was a little bit too cramped for our liking and the layout a bit too unorganized. Even the service wasn’t much to brag about. But Uncle Pang reminded me that we weren’t there for the service or the atmosphere, we were there to eat. Lol.

Each table came with a complimentary bottle of Hennessey X.O.

Was pretty much taking pics and stoning at the dinner table with Brian until the first dish came.

DPP_0027

Egg whites stuffed with Goose Liver Pate accompanied with Marinated Jelly Fish

DPP_0028

It was quite nice, not awesome, but nice, yet it was going to be quite a while till the next dish came.

DPP_0029

DPP_0030

Its supposed to be Braised Chicken Feet in Abalone Sauce. Heh but we’re all critics huh? Stayed away from this dish. Me no likey kai keok

DPP_0031

Crispy Roasted Pork. Took it with a little bit of Chinese mustard which was more like wasabi. X(

DPP_0032

Japanese Hamachi Sashimi accompanied with Raw “Zhang Hong” Fish Marinated with Dill and Mint leaves. Didn’t try it because my stomach was a little too weak. Mom said it was very fresh though.

DPP_0036

But this was THE BOMB. Double Boiled Superior Shark’s Fin with Stuffed Dried Fish Maw in Shark’s Bone Cartilage. Sorry sharks, but this tasted so dam good.

DPP_0040

After the shark’s fin soup, things were moving a little slow, so decided to explore the restaurant with Brian.

DPP_0043

For a new restaurant on the block it seems to have some pretty neat stuff. They had some Hennessy bottles with Diamonds encrusted on them but I wasn’t allowed to take photos of them.

DPP_0046

Picture’s a little blur, I know, but I’ll improve :P. After the last dish we were so bored, Brian wanted to go to the nearby mamak. =.= Tagged along, bought him a lighter, and convinced him having a quick meal of roti canai at a mamak defeats the purpose of going out to opening of a new restaurant. When we came back, this was waiting for us:

DPP_0047

Steamed Alaskan King Crab with Chinese Wine. This was pretty dam good. Never tasted crab meat as sweet as this before.

DPP_0050

Braised Australian Abalone with Steamed Hand-made Prawn paste served in Golden Sauce. Yea the abalone was great (KK’s one still the best, hands down) but the prawn paste was crap.

DPP_0051

Steamed Chicken Rice in Onion Oil. Don’t let the photo fool you, it tasted like shit.

DPP_0052

Steamed Village Chicken, “Hainanese” style

DPP_0053

I have no idea what was the name of these veggies but they were more sweet than bitter. Kinda reminded me of pearl corn. Interesting.

DPP_0055

Special Two Varieties of Chinese Pastries. I wonder when jelly counted as pastry. Bah give them the benefit of the doubt la.

DPP_0057

Chilled Pumpkin paste with sago. I rike. Was dam refreshing.

Well I guess this post and the one before pretty much sums up my raya. Not many open houses to go to. But still, had some fun experiences. Going for Najwa’s open house tomorrow, missing the air show with Eric. Maybe I should start a poll, should my posts have more words or photos? First of all, you readers would have to vote. Lol so tell me what you guys think la!

DPP_0061

Something about these last two pieces of dessert in this shot. They look like they’re worlds apart, but they actually tasted good when you ate them together. Huh.
